I’m glad I haven’t bored you or scared you away. I know I’ve told the story many times before but I’m not so averse to telling it again.

The name TerdBurgler has its origins in my youth. When my youngest sister was still a baby, she took up speaking very quickly. My siblings and I would commonly crowd around her and provoke her into saying things like foods, television shows and our names. As is common in those just learning a new skill, she wasn’t very good at it. Most notably, she would pronounce my name with the word ‘turd’ in it. My two older brothers were quick to sieze the opportunity and within moments, 'Turd’ became my new name. In time, Turd evolved into Turd Burglar and eight years later, it had become such an endearing name that I thought it would make an ideal online handle. To ensure that nobody else would have the same name, I intentionally misspelled it as TerdBurgler. I’ve only ever gone by one other name online. It was with gaming clan that insisted on clean, respectful behavior so there were a few years where folks knew me as SpAnKeY.

Linda’s name is a little more… embarrassing. I must start by insisting that where characters start and where they end up are completely different things. That being said, Linda is the name of my Aunt. Moreover, she is my mother’s identical twin. Originally, Linda was almost completely defined as being sweet and motherly. She was almost like my mom but not quite- ergo, she was like my mom’s identical twin. As she developed alongside me and I began to develop my own sexuality, she developed hers too. I didn’t see her as my aunt in any way. She was a means of expression and perspective. So again, she developed on her own. I’m not trying to sexualize my mom or her twin through her. But yes, that’s where her name came from. Her last name, Wright, I just thought it sounded good after Linda. X3
