Yknow, a slightly more troubling thought might be an explanation here. See, maybe more and more of these "moderate" furs, as you call yourself, have just been up and leaving the fandom, leaving only the purists, the trolls, and those strange folk who draw porn but don't want to know that it arouses anyone. As the ratio shifts, Moderate becomes Conservative, and then the majority is now more in line with this video's description. Not saying that's the case, but it's a thought.

I sincerely hope that is not the case. I have been applauded at other conventions championing that the silent majority are the ‘moderate’ fans. I continue to encourage this even at furry cons. However, it is all too common that I meet folks driven out of the fandom by 'purists’, trolls and drama. You see, most kids grow out of wanting to be a transformer by eight. Most whovians don’t actually believe the Doctor is real. But it’s become the norm that furries are overly obsessed with their fandom. Take your obsessions too far and you’re gonna get social backlash. That’s the 'fursecution’ they like to talk about but maybe, just maybe, some of these folks should take that as a sign to get some perspective on their lives. Dude, it’s just a fandom. Being a make-believe wolf hybrid doesn’t make you any more attune to wolves or heighten your natural abilities. In fact, believing that makes you kind of a douche because you’re saying that your fandom makes you better. It really doesn’t. Just like being a trekkie doesn’t make you any more technically savvy. Furries, just take a second to realize what you’re saying and think it over. Then take a moment to realize why people don’t like furries. And no, it’s not just because the Internet is full of dicks. It’s because you’re being super weird. Like, hippie-level weird. Cut it out!
