I don’t understand this. Why do they need/are having a parade about their sexuality? I’m not trying to be rude or anything but I just don’t understand why though…

Because in a lot of places these people have to battle homophobia every day.  it is nice every once in a while, to know that there are people that support you and others going through the same exact thing. it gives them, and other supporters, hope for the future.

Very well said^ I feel very proud of everyone there. Lots of people think Mormons or Christian’s or any other religion JUST think one way, like were all against gay marriage. But people have their own views too. I’m one of those lgbt supporting Christians, and am proud to tell anyone who asks.

It makes me happy to see not just LGBT couples and persons but also their supporters who had come together in peace to spread their message of love and not just tolerance… but acceptance and show their support for equality. THAT is what brings me the most joy from these pictures.

I just want to add a correction. This is not the second or third Utah Pride Parade. The first Pride was in 1983 and the parade has been a part of the festivities for over a decade.
