Ever played Brutal: Paws of Fury with is the Unleashed/Above The Claw expansion eventually? Pretty everyone seems to have forgot it. In case, did you have a favorite character? (that isn't Foxy Roxy :) )

Never even heard of it so I looked it up. Dear God, no wonder this thing was forgotten. It’s incredibly forgettable! Graphically, it’s a mess with artistic styles all over the board. No consistency, really wonky animations and outright lazy character designs. One wonders if these people actually know what a real llama looks like! Not only that, they actually made two of these things! The first game on the Sega CD reeks of the CDi days with lazy, cartoonish, pixelated graphics. What’s worse, it entirely fails as a fighting game. Character balance is a joke, control is abysmal and everything moves too darn slow. It’s like some kind of ‘my first Mugen’ game. They also ported it to the SNES which is basically the same game but with worse graphics and no animated cut scenes. And the sequel is even worse! It’s like somebody heard their first game was too slow so they decided that the sequel should be ludicrously fast! Special moves blaze across the screen, balance is still a foreign concept to them and every single character looks like it was outsourced to a different high-school animation enthusiast. You ask what my favorite design would be excluding Foxy but honestly, she wouldn’t be my top pick regardless. She’s an over-sexualized fox wearing a knock-off Sonya Blade recolor and frankly, it’s just insulting. Most other characters are framed around a fighting technique like Kung-Fu Bunny or Kendo Coyote. Even Pantha, Ivan the Bear and Psycho Kitty have character to make up for their lack of fighting style. But Foxy Roxy is just… sexy. That’s her whole thing. And to have the only female character in the game reduced to that is perhaps a sign of the times but still discouraging. Karate Croc or Prince Leon would take my favorite pick.
