I certainly had an insect/fairy-type thing in mind when I was working on it but I wanted to keep it from falling too much into any one archetype (Not really a him or her since it can change gender). I threw together some different design concepts until I found a look I like. If I were to attribute credit to anyone for inspiration, I would probably say it was a combination of Bondage Fairies, Jessica Elwood and Whitemantis. (Daliah was THIS CLOSE to having four arms)
